Dial-A-Ride/ADA Paratransit

METRA provides ADA Complementary Paratransit Service to eligible for persons with disabilities who are, because of their disability, unable to board, ride or disembark from an accessible vehicle in METRA's regular fixed route bus service. The shared ride ADA paratransit service is provided curb-to-curb. Door-to-door service is provided upon request. All buses are equipped with automatic ramps for transporting persons with disabilities and persons in wheelchairs.

Eligibility

Individuals having mobility limitations may be eligible for Paratransit Service on a temporary or permanent basis. Call METRA's Eligibility and Certification staff at (706) 225-4596 for more information about the service.

Visitors that have been certified by another transit system in another city are authorized to use METRA's Paratransit Services and are subject to METRA's operating requirements. Visitors are asked to call METRA at (706) 225-4596 to obtain temporary eligibility prior to scheduling a reservation.

Make a Reservation

Certified individuals having a METRA ADA Photo Identification Card may call METRA's Paratransit Reservation Office to schedule a ride.

Paratransit Service is an advanced reservation service. Same day requests cannot be accommodated.

Service Area

Service is restricted to the ADA designated service area within Columbus along a 3/4 of a mile corridor located on each side of all fixed bus routes and in 3/4 of a mile radius of each station.

Fare / Swipe Cards

The one-way fare is $2.50 per person, payable by cash, stored value swipe cards, or Value Cards (a.k.a. Smart Card).

METRA's Reduced-Fare Cards are not accepted on Paratransit Service.
