Columbus Consolidated Government Announces
NO CHANGE to METRA Bus Service previously scheduled for January 2021 as a result of COVID-19

COLUMBUS, GA – Columbus Consolidated Government announces that due to low ridership and the high risk of COVID-19, METRA Transit System will continue operating the current reduced service hours on its Fixed Route and Paratransit bus services until further notice.

METRA Transit System Bus Service Adjustments:
The Department of Transportation/METRA will continue to operate the following reduced service until further notice due to COVID-19:

  • Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride will continue to operate the regular scheduled service from 4:30 AM until 8:30 PM, Monday-Saturday.
  • The last lineup of buses will continue to depart METRA's Transfer Center at 6:30 PM.
  • METRA will continue to enforce social distancing on buses and inside customer waiting area when necessary. A mask/face covering is required in buildings and on buses.
  • METRA's Admin Office will remain open to the public during its normal business hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
  • Customers may call 706-225-4673 for information about METRA's service.

COLUMBUS, GA – Columbus Consolidated Government announces that effective Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the following adjustments will be made to METRA Fixed Route and Paratransit bus services until further notice.

Effective Tuesday, May 26, 2020

METRA Transit System Bus Service Adjustments:
The Department of Transportation/METRA will operate the following services until further notice due to COVID-19 staffing issues:

  • Fixed Route and Dial-A-Ride will operate a Saturday's schedule from 4:30 AM until 8:30 PM, Monday thru Saturday.
  • The last lineup of buses will depart METRA's Transfer Center at 6:30 PM.
  • METRA will enforce social distancing on buses and customer waiting area when necessary.
  • METRA's Admin Office will remain open to the public during its normal business hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
  • Parking citations will be paid online at: columbusga.gov/parking, METRA Administration Office, 814 Linwood Blvd, or at drop boxes located at the Public Safety Building and Recorders Court.
  • Customers may call 706-225-4673 for information about METRA’s service.

Starting on July 1st, the FREE Health and Human Services Shuttle (HHSS)

Starting on July 1st, 2020, METRA will begin operating a new shuttle service to the Health Department locations at 2100 Comer Ave. and at 5601 Veterans Pkwy.
