MOTORCYCLIST DIES FROM INJURIES, WOMAN ARRESTED

On March 15, 2023, Columbus Police Officers responded to the area of Lee St. and 28th Ave. concerning a vehicle vs.
motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist, Phillip Damren, 68, was transported to the hospital and later died as a result of his
injuries.

MAN KILLED, ANOTHER INJURED IN BUENA VISTA RD. SHOOTING

On Sunday, April 9, 2023 at 3:32 a.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 4900 block of Buena Vista Road concerning a shooting. Responding officers found a Black male (later identified as Dale Williams, 39) lying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

TWO ARRESTED IN BELVEDERE PARK ARMED ROBBERY

 Wednesday, April 5, 2023

On Monday, April 03, 2023, at approximately 2056 hours, members of the Columbus Police Department Patrol Division responded to an Armed Robbery call that occurred in the 800 block area of Wilder Drive (Belvedere Park). Police investigation revealed that a group of male juveniles were playing basketball, when two of the juveniles were robbed at gun point by two other juveniles who had been playing with them.

WANTED: CLUB FLAME SHOOTING SUSPECT

On Friday, March 11, 2022, Columbus Police Department Officers responded to a shooting that occurred at 4504 Armour Road (Club Flame). Officers determined that two men were involved in an argument that preceded with gunshots being exchanged between them.

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 6:36 p.m., the Columbus Police Department’s Patrol Unit responded to the 3000 block of Urban Avenue in reference to a shooting. The victim, Mr. Ernest Brooks, 36, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

FIVE ARRESTED IN FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO MINOR OPERATION

On March 17, 2023, members of the Columbus Police Department’s Special Operations Unit, Patrol Services, and
undercover assets from Ft. Benning’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted an underage alcohol purchase detail at
various locations across Columbus. The operation was conducted after the Special Operations Unit received multiple
complaints regarding local businesses selling alcohol to minors.

On March 11, 2023 at 11:51 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 4900 block of River Road (Piggly
Wiggly) concerning an armed robbery of the business. Responding officers spoke with the night manager, Christian
Barajas, who stated an unknown male entered the business, pointed a gun at him, and got away with an undetermined
amount of cash.
