MULTIPLE CHILDREN SHOT OUTSIDE OF A GAS STATION

On Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:11 p.m., the Columbus Police Department’s Patrol Unit was dispatched to the 4400 block of Warm Springs Road (Shell Gas Station) in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers found several gunshot victims and a large group of people.

MAN KILLED IN FORSYTH STREET SHOOTING

On Friday, February 17, 2023 around 3:50 a.m., Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Ewart Avenue and Forsyth Street in reference to an injured person. Responding officers found a male, later identified as 63-year-old Wiley “Lee” Jackson, lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

A man wanted in connection to a home invasion in Columbus, GA has been arrested on separate charges in Dallas, TX. Due to active warrants, the Columbus Police Department was notified about the arrest of Curtis Williams, 33, after he was taken into custody.

WOMAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO FATHER'S DEATH

On Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 8:45 p.m., Jerry Faulkner was transported by EMS to St. Francis Hospital because he went into cardiac arrest. An emergency room doctor pronounced Faulkner deceased at 8:56 p.m. The paramedics alerted our officers at the hospital that Faulkner had visible injuries on his face and neck.

ARMED ROBBERY, KIDNAPPING SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Friday, January 27, 2023 at 2:14 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the Super 8 Motel on Warm Springs Road in reference to an armed robbery and kidnapping. The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded room keys.

JUVENILE ARRESTED IN STRING OF ARMED ROBBERIES

On January 24, 2023 between 7:20 p.m.-7:48 p.m., the Columbus Police Department’s Patrol Officers responded to a string of armed robberies in the Victory Drive area. Four businesses and one individual were robbed at gunpoint. An attempted armed robbery occurred at another business nearby.
