Performs heavy manual labor and operates any required mechanical equipment used by the Field Services Teams. Understand the total operation of the Team sufficiently to perform duties in the absence of the Assistant Team Leader. Performs the upkeep and preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment used by the team. Prepares for daily assignments by loading assigned truck with all necessary materials, supplies and equipment as per supervisor's instructions. Cleans and washes vehicles and equipment as needed. Attend all seminars and training given by Columbus Water Works. Employee will be required to perform on-call duties on a rotating schedule.

Electrical Instrument Tech I (MMD)

Columbus Water Works

Perform skilled work in the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and electronic equipment at facilities operated by the Columbus Water Works. Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance and repair on all electrical equipment at all CWW facilities. Perform calibrations on various instrumentation devices. Plan and execute small electrical construction projects. Assist in troubleshooting electronic systems, radio systems, SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system, flow monitoring equipment, level sensors, transmitters, PLC’s and other instrumentation commonly used in water and wastewater industry. Enter time, materials, and pertinent data into MAXIMO work reporting software as work orders are completed. Occasionally works in high, precarious places (ex. water storage tanks approx. 165 ft), confined spaces, and in outside weather conditions. Perform related duties as required.

Field Services Technician I – Field Services

Columbus Water Works

Performs heavy manual labor and operates any required mechanical equipment used by Field Services Teams. Performs operations such as rodding, excavation, digging, dipping, pumping, punching and cleaning. Understands the total operation of the Team sufficiently to perform duties required to run the Team in the absence of the Field Service Tech II. Coordinates with Field Services Tech II to complete jobs as required. Exercises responsibility for upkeep and preventive maintenance of all mechanical equipment used by the Team and sets up safety equipment with minimal supervision. Attend all seminars and training given by Columbus Water Works. Employee will be required to perform on-call duties on a rotating schedule.

Fleet Planning Tech I (MMD)

Columbus Water Works

Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of Fleet Maintenance as it pertains to planning and scheduling operations of a Fleet Maintenance Shop. Must be knowledgeable of fleet parts and equipment to be able to order and work with vendors to assure other techs have the tools and equipment needed to perform work orders. Must communicate with all divisions of CWW to notify staff of current and upcoming fleet service requests. Must work with the Supervisor to assure fleet inventory levels are correct and accounted for on the work orders. Schedules and maintains fleet pool vehicles to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts and fleet pool is cleaned and service for next scheduled reservation. Be able to perform skilled work in the maintenance of vehicles and heavy construction equipment as directed and scheduled by the Supervisor and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Must have the ability to troubleshoot and evaluate equipment. Safely uses equipment and tools to perform maintenance on equipment, including but not limited to fleet vehicles (gas and diesel), heavy equipment, diesel generators, small engine repair, trailers, ATVs, and etc when directed. Inspects and test all components of autos, trucks and construction equipment. Also perform without supervision, oil and filter changes, transmission service, tire mounting and balancing, battery maintenance, lighting system checks and vehicle cleaning when directed. All other related duties as required by the Supervisor.

Provides support to GIS on various projects and programs for Columbus Water Works (CWW). Performs varied technical work including data entry from as-built drawings, record drawings, and backlog information, customer service, and production of internal and external maps. May work with other departments in collecting/integrating data. Insures all work is in accordance with the purpose and vision of CWW and Departmental goals. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by and under direct supervision of Geomatics Manager and general supervision of the GIS Specialists and the Vice President of Engineering. Welcome to your Local Workforce Development Agency

On behalf of the Lower Chattahoochee Workforce Board, the Columbus Consolidated Government Job Training Division is responsible to assist in the administration of services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Our mission is to provide quality training and employment opportunities for eligible citizens of our workforce community through a myriad of programs and activities funded or provided through a network of internal and external training providers. As your workforce development agency, we promote collaborations with various business leaders and support agencies within the community to ensure that individuals served are provided the utmost in quality services that meet their employability needs.

Our trained staff is available to refer and assist you in making informed choices about the services and/or type of training that best meet your needs and interests, and which maximized your employment opportunities.

The Lower Chattahoochee Workforce Development Board was formed by Executive Order and certified by the Georgia Department of Economic Development Workforce Division on July 1, 2015 in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (P.L. 113-128). The Workforce Development Board is comprised of individuals representing business, economic development, housing and urban development, community service, senior community service, vocational rehabilitation, organized labor, youth and community-based organization, apprenticeship, elected officials, and public service organizations.

  Members of the Board are appointed by the Chief Elected Official (CLEO) and serve in an oversight and advisory capacity to the CLEO of the local workforce area. The Mayor, Columbus Consolidated Government, has been designated by the local elected officials of the eight county service areas to serve on their behalf as primary Chief Elected Officials for this local workforce area inclusive of their municipalities. Members of the Board, in partnership with the Chief Elected Official, assist in development of local, regional planning efforts and annual reports, conduct program oversight and compliance of local employment and training activities for youth, adult, and dislocated residents of the eight county area of Muscogee, Harris, Talbot, Chattahoochee, Clay, Randolph, Stewart, and Quitman counties; and ensure fiscal compliance and administrative oversight of funds awarded under the Act.

  It is the mission of the Lower Chattahoochee Workforce Development Board to partner together with area business, economic development, labor, education, and public sector to develop strategies and support efforts to ensure that customers of our local workforce development system are afforded the utmost in personable, professional and quality service and training opportunities. Staff of the Job Training Division assists the Board and Chief Elected Officials in carrying out this mission.
