Voting is a basic right of being an American citizen. Elections in America have not only shaped the history of America, but have also shaped the history of the World. Let your voice be heard and register to vote today!

How Do I Register?

  1. Verify Your Eligibility
    • Be a citizen of the United States
    • Be a legal resident of Muscogee County
    • Be at least 17 1/2 (must be 18 to vote on Election Day)
    • Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
    • Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge
  2. Submit Voter Registration Application
Georgia's Secretary of State Office provides two options for voter registration, online or mail-in registration card.
    Register Online
Visit the State of Georgia's Online Voter Registration System, and click the I Want to Register to Vote button.
    Register by Mail
Download and complete the postage-paid Voter Registration application and mail it to the Secretary of State's office. The Secretary of State's mailing address is on the second page of the registration application.
  3. Check Mail for Precinct Card
Once the Secretary of State's Office processes your registration request, a precinct card will be mailed to you. Your precinct card lets you know where you need to go in order to vote. It is important to note that you don't need to bring your precinct card to vote.

If you have misplaced or have not received your precinct card within 3 to 4 weeks of submitting your voter registration application, contact the Elections & Registration Office to request a new precinct card or to check the status of your application. You can also verify that you're properly registered to vote by visiting the Secretary of State's My Voter Page.
