On Monday, January 2, 2023, Columbus Police Officers responded to the 3800 block of Miller Road in reference to a possible kidnapping. The investigation revealed that an unknown female appeared to be in danger and there was concern for her safety.

ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY SHOPLIFTING SUSPECTS

The Columbus Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying three shoplifting suspects. The individuals, who were captured on surveillance camera, are wanted for shoplifting from Ulta Beauty on Whittlesey Boulevard twice in one week.

On Saturday, December 24, 2022 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 29th Street in reference to a person on the ground. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased male (later identified as Zayveion Walton) who had been shot.

On Wednesday, December 21, 2022 around 10:20 a.m., Columbus Police Officers were called to Liberty Avenue in reference to a body on the ground. Upon arrival, officers discovered a black male (later identified as Marcus Spellers) suffering from gunshot wounds.

On December 5, 2022 at 6:11 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the 1800 block of Victory Drive after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found a female (later identified as Tomisha Hayes, 28) lying in the middle of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

NEWS RELEASE: TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO SEIZURE OF DRUGS AND FIREARMS

On Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at about 12:35 a.m., one of our officers noticed an individual acting suspiciously at the Circle K located on the 5100 block of Warm Springs Road. The individual was standing in the parking lot and upon seeing the police car, he quickly walked inside the store. When the officer turned around and headed towards the store, the individual had already exited the store, gotten into a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, and exited the parking lot.
