The Juneteenth Committee is accepting entries for its inaugural Juneteenth Art & Fashion Show at the Columbus Public Library. Artists are encouraged to submit a piece exploring the themes and ideas around the eleven historical markers on Dr. Martin Luther King Outdoor Learning Trail that honor African American history in Columbus, civil rights activists, and community leaders. Ten finalists will be selected to have their artwork displayed inside the Columbus Public Library the night of Juneteenth Art & Fashion Show on June 16th, as well as be featured as part of an outdoor exhibition on the façade of the Columbus Public Library throughout the month of June. The works will then go on a month-long tour of Columbus, including stops at Mildred Terry Library, Columbus Civic Center, etc.
Artists of all ages and experience are encouraged to apply, and all mediums will be considered. The deadline for submissions is Monday, June 6th and winners will be notified by Friday, June 10th. For more information and to apply, click the link below.
