Program Mission & Standards

The Columbus Fire and EMS Training Division’s Paramedic Program follows the CAAHEP Standard II.C Program Goal, which is:

To prepare competent, entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains, with or without exit points at the Advanced EMT, EMT, or Emergency Medical Responder levels.

Accreditation

The Columbus Fire and EMS Paramedic Training Program received initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on March 16, 2018, upon recommendation from the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
