ARP Utility Assistance Program

Columbus Consolidated Government (CCG) is pleased to develop the City of Columbus ARP-Utility Assistance Program. CCG has allocated $1,500,000 to assist with support to vulnerable low-income households by addressing their immediate home energy needs and economic security. The program will be administered through Enrichment Services.

To qualify for this program an applicant’s household income must be less than or equal to 80% of the Columbus Metro Fair Market Rents area median income for a Georgia household. Applicants will need to make an appointment and provide income documentation to the Enrichment Services Case Manager to determine the household’s eligibility for services. Upon approval payment amounts of up to $500 for electricity, $500 for natural gas, and/or $300 for water will be made directly to the utility service provider.

The Enrichment Services website began accepting appointments August 14, 2023, and continued accepting appointments on a rolling basis until all funds were exhausted. The Columbus Consolidated Government, the Community Reinvestment Department and Enrichment Services estimate that more than 2,000 households were served.
